It’s been a few months now that I have registered my domain name. Having one of the most common name for a Vietnamese person, I have managed to get myself to the top spot on Google when searching for my name. While many web designer portfolio website have unique full names, it is quite easy for those designers and developers to rank for their name in the search engine rankings page due to their distinguished names.
For the first two or three months, I’ve been doing heavy SEO research and been keeping up to date within the search engine industry through registering with blogs, and also subscribing to RSS feeds from blog networks and sites. Many of them provide useful resources and tips and also have a large community following them. Some of which also have a community discussion boards or forum in which you can discuss about the latest topics in the industry. With the knowledge gained from these social networking websites, I’ve put those knowledge in good use for my own practice.
Many useful tools are also available on the web that will help you achieve your SERP position such as Google Webmasters Tool, or Google Analytics. Other ways you can increase your position is by being active on social networking websites such as Twitter, Facebook, or any blogs that are related to your website. Besides that, there are also many other steps that you can take to achieve the number one spot in Google.
